The darts legend that is Phil “The Power” Taylor absolutely still has the power. Winning the Darts Champions League in Cardiff, 11-5, against the maximum hitting, currently winning everything, Michael Van Gerwin who romped his way into the final. The tournament that Phil says “is for the Top 8 players in the world. It’s not an easy one.”
PT. “My energy levels had dropped but I pulled it out just when I needed it. Michael has probably played too much, say 10 days out of 14.”
Phil’s performance highlighted exactly how your ‘mental game’ can make the difference to winning or being the runner up. His focus, concentration & composure did not falter throughout the entertaining, crowd pleasing, roller coaster of a match – right to the very end!
